Our Story
How it began...
In May of 2019 "Adam Peaty Race Clinics" was born. The concept was created by Adam Peaty MBE and his training partner at the time, Edward Baxter. When planning the first tour of clinics the aim was to revolutionize the normal "swim clinic" and make it something that people had never seen before and do something that is often missed out in the swimming world... teaching young swimmers how to RACE.

The first tour took place in August of 2019 and saw the Adam Peaty Race Clinics Team visit five different location for five consecutive days all around England. From Bath all the way up to Cumbria, this tour also included a visit to Adam's old stomping ground in Repton, Derbyshire.
The day consisted of three stations. Firstly, a swim station, which was made up of two groups. A breaststroke technique station led by Adam himself and a breaststroke pull out station ran by Ed. The second station was headed up by Adam's gym coach, Robert Norman. This was a land station which really focused around body weight exercises and improving swimming specific pathways. The final station was the "Racing Edge Station". This was led by Olympian, Tim Shuttleworth and was based around the mental side of racing and how the elite swimmers get the winning edge.

The story continued...
COVID-19...
The first UK “lockdown” was implemented in March 2020 and brought the country to a standstill. The team immediately dived into action to support athletes however they could, putting together a free resource pack for parents and swimmers everywhere. It included tips from all of our previous station leads at our clinics and hopefully gave swimmers a much need lift in such challenging times.

Following the postponement of the Olympics, came the inevitable postponement of the Race Clinics Tour planned for after the Olympics. The team had over 40 clinics planned worldwide tour which included not only the UK but also tours in the US and Asia. As Covid-19 continued to be a factor in sport and wider world, the team focused on the areas they could control and continued offering world class support digitally through the innovative AP Plus platform (hyperlink to the AP plus page). They took this on a step further in December 2020 offering the first virtual Race Clinic. This featured some incredible new additions to the race clinics offering including race analysis with Ed, now a member of Adam’s coaching team, a conversation with his performance psychologist, a land training session that Adam completed with all the attendees and a live Q&A for both the swimmers and parents.
